About

Karina Rosanne Barrett

Since graduating from Glyndŵr University, I have been living in Snowdonia.
Ynys Môn and Pen Llŷn are my main source of inspiration, and I often visit these locations to paint ‘En Plein Air.’

‘The Sea’ is a very important subject for my work; its sheer power and beauty have always had a strong influence on me. I am fascinated by the enigmatic light around the coast, and I never tire of trying to capture its tricks on canvas.
I also have a peculiar interest in the traditional dwellings of the area, and the idea of them slowly being reclaimed by their landscape.

My work is available through Oriel Tegfryn (Menai Bridge) and Martin Tinney gallery (Cardiff) www.artwales.com.
My work recently received a commendation from the Royal Cambrian Academy.
I am currently working towards an exhibition at Oriel Ynys Môn in 2014
